Rahim Ismail
Position:
Chair
Program: 3rd Year Pharmacy

Leaving Western after just a year, Rahim ventured into UofT’s Pharmacy building in hopes of mastering the ancient art of counting pills. Realizing that the task at hand was beyond his capability, he decided to turn his attention towards … HEY LOOK, A SHINY OBJECT! Where were we? Oh, yeah ... Anyways, being a staunch critic of the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, and Stephen Harper, Rahim decided it was time he showed the world that leaders can make a positive impact.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … it would be that he could eat anything in infinite amounts without gaining weight.

Azrah Manji
Position:
Vice Chair
Program:  2nd year Political Science and Gender Studies

Azrah Manji, ran away from the cold, cowboy filled city of calgary to be glamorized in the city of Toronto and to melt away into its cultural diversities through the studies of gender and politics.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … it would be for there to be Chinooks in Toronto (but that could never ever happen, no genie is that powerful).

Farheen Mussani
Position: Communications

Program: 2nd Year Medicine

I can be summarized in the word: chatty. In fact, I'm so chatty that I was chatterbox of the year for the ISA last year...hence the reason why I am going to be the "communicator" this year :) And just because Rahim is making me answer the question about the genie, here is my answer:

If I had found a genie and he granted me 1 wish … I would ask him to let me talk all the time!

Zain Lakhani
Position: Sports Rep

I am aiming to become the President of this country learning from experience with the ISA and a degree in Interntional Relations.

If I had found a genie and he granted me one wish … I would ask for Pakistan and India to be one as we are all one and the same, with our accents ‘n food, cricket ‘n the moods.

Rabyah Murji
Position: Education Rep.

Salwa Anwarali
Position: GTA Rep.

Program: 4th Year Human Resources

You know you love the ISA when you are already planning what position to run for next year; especially when this is your last year at school. Haha.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … I would ask it to swipe facebook off the face of this earth into oblivion and put us back in a time where it was ok to wear a really hot dress again at a different friend circle gathering. phew....

Anita Pabani
Position: Arts and Culture Rep

Program: 2nd Year Life Science

Hey, my name is Anita Pabani and I am a second year student at the University of Toronto studying life sciences. Being given this opportunity to serve in the ISA will hopefully get us all to interact MORE and for me to get to know EVERYONE :) Hope this year is a memorable one!

If I had found a genie and he granted me one wish … I would want to read people's minds.

Adil Shamji – Grad Rep
Program: 2nd Year Medicine

Adil is a fun-loving, outgoing half-man half-monkey "graduate student".  In his spare time he enjoys long walks on the beach (by himself), candlelight dinners for two (by himself) and hanging out with his friends (by himself).

If I had found a genie and he granted me 1 wish … it would be to meet Curious George and learn the ways of this monkey master.

Zenah Surani – Grad Frosh Rep
Program: 1st Year Pharmacy

In south central Ottawa born and raised, on the ping pong table is where I spent most of my days. Studied Economics at McGill, Montreal was cool--worked on ITREB after school. So I wrote the entrance test, thought I didn't do good, and went back to chillin in my neighbourhood. But I got the acceptance, and gave my friends some hugs; I was moving to Toronto to study...drugs!

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … I wish the Sens get John Tavares

Imran Jivraj
Position: Religious Education Coordinator (REC)

Program: 2nd Year Medicine

I am a smooth-talking Edmontonian with a love for fine steaks, all-you-can-eat sushi, lingering around the chai percolator, and wide open spaces. Few things in life are more enjoyable than a rip-roaring laugh, an intense tennis rally, and a deep tissue neck massage. These are the gifts I offer at no cost. I look forward to working with my esteemed ISA colleagues on matters of religious education and reminding you that you are part of me and I am part of you and we are all part of each other.

If I had found a genie and he granted me 1 wish … I would ask him for a plate of KT shop samosas and an ocean view.

Mehreen Muhammad
Position: Frosh Rep

Program: 1st Year Political Science

My name is Mehreen Muhammad, the girl who you can spot easily because of her very red cheeks. I am ready to die in my first year of political science. The two things in life that I do best is sleeping and eating. I have a habit of biting my nails and one thing I hope to achieve in life is learn how to wink.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … I would wish for wings so I can fly to my classes rather then die walking

Aly Shamsy
Position: Mukhi Saheb

Program: Alumni

A graduate from the University of Toronto Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, I currently work as a Java Developer at Novator, an e-commerce platform provider. I am a huge Manchester United Fan and watch football, that's right FOOTBALL, religiously.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish … I would ask for a time machine, go back to first year, smack myself in the head and tell me to STUDY!!!

Benazir Assadzada
Position: Kamdiani Saheba

Program: 4th year Human Biology

Since I am in my last year of studies majoring in Human Biology with a minor in religion at U of T, my name will officially be withdrawn from the "Gerstein" membership list by next academic year. I will however, get membership to a singing, dancing and chit chatting institution, where I could practice my all time bobbies, which are currently repressed by U of T.

If I found a genie and he granted me one wish  … I would ask for another genie who could grant me more than 1 wish. :)

Aliya Merchant – Ladies’ Captain
Program: Mathematics and Physical Science

In addition to eating, sleeping, and watching movies, I also enjoy reading horoscopes and physics quotes.  Born and raised in Toronto, I love browsing through pictures from other countries and can chat for hours.  Hope to see you at the next ISA event!

If I had found a genie and he granted me 1 wish … I'd wish for a never-ending supply of ice cream.

Aly Habib Halari – Gents’ Captain.

Program: 3rd Year Pharmacy

From the ghetto streets of unionville, this unlawful ISA member is feared by all. At any given moment, he may take out his pen...and give you a varo. Also known as JB (thats jamat bhai, not James Bond - although all the ISA women do fall for him), this man is always armed with a deck of cards, should the circumstances call for it.
